The 7th annual event, The Sun Valley Road Rally, supports an important cause, keeping local youth drug and alcohol free. You are guaranteed to get a 'for-fun' speeding ticket from our sheriff and you are guaranteed to have a great time! Last year, Buggatis, Ferraris, Porsches, and the like pushed speeds of 246,4 mph (!!) and a great time was had by all. The course is a 3.2 mile section of Highway 75, which includes a soft, banked 90 degree gentle slope-climbing corner, followed by a straight section downhill past the grandstands, to a the final third of the course reserved for slowing down and entering the turnout area at the end. Drivers who run a second or third run are returned to the course start at the appropriate time to improve on their runs; most drivers elect to go multiple times and most are return drivers from previous years. Safety is our highest priority with a full complement of sheriffs' staff and fire and rescue teams. Each driver's car is required to go through a safety inspection and drivers will receive a "tech talk" during the drivers luncheon on Friday.

Some exciting changes for 2015 include:

  • Gala Celebration Dinner on Saturday evening
  • More buses this year
  • New safe spectator viewing area
  • A larger marketing effort to Southern Idaho residents (with an expectation of 600-900 spectators)

The event has grown from local to national proportions in the last year, and we now require that all potential drivers apply in order to register for the 2015 event. We will announce further details regarding this process in January 2015, but please contact us if you have any questions at all in the meantime. Thanks for your interest!
 
 
Refund Policy:
Up to 60 days prior to event 100%, up to 45 days prior to event 75%, up to 30 days prior to the event 50%, up to 15 days prior to event 25%, 14 days or less fees are non refundable.
 
*Weather Cancellation*
 
In the case of a weather cancellation the day of the event, some veteran drivers have expressed a desire to donate all the funds to the charity; that being the ultimate purpose of the event.
 
The formal policy, if a driver desires, is a 35% refund or a discount of 50% towards the same number of runs in the 2015 Road Rally; at the drivers option.
 
As this is ultimately an act of god, the Community Drug Coalition has no control over weather. We will make every effort to delay the rally, give drivers every opportunity to participate on Saturday, July 26th.
 
Finally, the event has grown in scale to where it is no longer possible to offer a Sunday rally as an alternative for weather delays.
